Stanley J. Setear, of New Milford, passed away peacefully at his home on July 17, 2023. Stan was born in Meriden on February 7, 1926 to the late Josef and Catherine (Czepiga) Setera. He was the widow of Barbara (Crowley) Setear.
Stanley served for the US Army honorably during WWII. He attended college and obtained his Master's in Education and started his career teaching in Bridgewater, moved on to becoming the first principal at John Pettibone School in New Milford, then Assistant Superintendent of Schools in New Milford until his retirement. He was very dedicated to education during his working years, and a member of St. Francis Church in New Milford as well as the Lions Club.
