Richard Hall

Richard H. Hall, 93, of Bethel, beloved husband of Frances (Alaby) Hall, died peacefully at Regional  Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Danbury on Saturday, February 10, 2018. He was born in Norwalk on July 9, 1924, son of the late Clifford and Mabel (Johnson) Hall. 
Mr. Hall was a Veteran of World War II and the Korean War, serving with the United States Navy. He was a member of the VFW, the American Legion, and the USS Landing Craft Infantry National Association. His military service was an important part of his life and he shared his Naval experiences not only with his loved ones but in area schools. He was also interviewed for a documentary that was presented at the Bethel Cinema. 
He worked for many years as a tool and die maker for Gilbert and Bennet and was a member of the Dodgingtown Volunteer Fire Department. He also worked as a landscaper. 
He enjoyed scrapbooking and created cherished books for his grandchildren. He also enjoyed taking Sunday drives. 
In addition to his wife, Frances, he will be sadly missed by his five children, Eileen Hall, Lynda Rushka, Ted Hall, Ward Hall, Ken Hall and his wife, Lisa; his ten grandchildren, Richard, Tracy, Adam, Chris, Dakota, Billie, Jesse, Bob, Kayla, and Jherri; his granddaughter-in-law, Lauren Rushka; 15 great-grandchildren and his sister, Marie Johnson. 
He was predeceased by his grandson, Matthew Rushka; his brother Clifford Hall and his sister, Ruth Well. 
Funeral Services will be held at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. Burial will take place in Central Cemetery, Brookfield, in the spring. 
The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home on Wednesday between the hours of 4:00 and 7:00pm.
